College Housing Containers

'Cite A Docks' uses Shipment Containers for Student Homes

In Le Havre, France students live in a residential complex designed to look like shipment containers. Called 'Cite A Docks,' the student housing consists of 100 apartments built into a 4-story structure.

Conceived by Cattani Architects, Cite A Docks is meant to give student housing a modern township feel and eliminate feelings on imprisonment. Cite A Docks was designed to have a lot of transparency and open spaces such as walkways and a garden. Each apartment is furnished and the building itself is made of metal insulated with rubber and reinforced concrete.
