Yabu Pushelberg, a New York design studio, has released a new collection of light fixtures called the Cipher collection for the Czech glass manufacturer Lasvit. The ethereal Cipher collection is made from hand-blown crystal, and it consists of two forms that show off the impressive detail involved in such a labor-heavy process.
The two models in the Cipher collection employ the same basic techniques, though they're easy to distinguish from one another. The more staid of the two consists of two elongated crystal tubes oriented in sequence along the same plane and interspersed by crystal orbs. The other model is far more ostentatious, with tubes that explode from a central point on the fixture. In both models, the crystal is embedded with vertically etched lines that add to the delicacy of the collection.
