Corn Husk-Inspired Chairs

This Outdoor Furniture Collection Offers Variety and a Quirky Design

HUSK is a new line of outdoor chairs that were inspired quite literally by husks of the corn. Internationally recognized architect and industrial designer Marc Thorpe modeled the chairs after the popular/common summer vegetable, with simplicity in mind. Such a common food projected the idea for the chairs to be appealing for a large demographic.

The outdoor chair collection, best suited for patio season, will be offered in three colors: white, green, and red, and they will come in three various height levels.

Thorpe presented the design to Moroso M’Afrique, of Moroso, which is where is has been working for the past five years. After presenting the chair design, manufacturing began in Dakar, Senegal.

HUSK will have its debut at the 2015 Salone del Mobile in Milan, Italy.
