One of the features of pottery that is most appreciated by its users is the smoothness of the textures; you'll find something quite different in the CeraMetal Series. Sure, you can see that the main body of each of the crockery items seems to be made of a beautiful soft porcelain, but this texture is abruptly interrupted.
Einat Kirschner has made bowls, vases, pitchers, assorted dishes and flower pots from ceramic material, but they're turned into mixed media pieces. The designer was curious about combining the lovely earthenware with mineral yet industrial accents. Quite unexpectedly, melted copper powder and magnetized iron powder were applied to the sides, the rims and the bottoms of the CeraMetal Series to give them a visual and tangible sharpness. The contrast is enhanced by the polarity of the white pottery and the grey and black metals.
