This fluffy, odd-eyed cat has a familial bond with 88 year old Japanese farmer and fresh vegetable merchant Misao that is so visible in this captivating cat photo series. Through the series you can feel how they keep each other company and how involved they are in their daily routine.
Ihara chose to photograph his grandmother Misao and her cat Fukumaru, which Misao found in an abandoned shed, because of their inseparable clan bond.
Using both color and black and white, Ihara's series of photographs of the unlikely duo show us a glimpse of a life of friendship and kinship.
