Connected Italian Apartments

The IoT Casa Jasmina is One of the First Its Kind in the World

Casa Jasmina is the home of the future. The connected apartment, which opens its doors this weekend, is one of the first of its kind. The public will be able to roam the two-year pilot project, which is based in Torino, Italy, and even rent it on Airbnb. People will love to experience Casa Jasmina in an intimate way. After all, it beautifully combines Italian interior and furniture design with a long lineage of open-source electronics thanks to a collaboration with Arduino.

A collaborative effort curated by Bruce Sterling and Massimo Banzi, Casa Jasmina hopes to engage the domestic setting by making such technology more usable. Sterling says, "They are mostly there for the geek who buying the hardware and is in command of the user base. I think its time for the maker scene to expand out of its limits and try to talk to a wider demographic."
