Xtep, a Chinese professional sportswear brand, is set to globally launch its new flagship marathon racing shoe series, the 160X 8.0, on August 21, with the top-tier 160X 8.0 Ultra model featuring a newly developed GT1200 carbon plate.
The GT1200 carbon plate innovation is noteworthy as it incorporates aerospace-grade carbon fiber materials typically used in deep-space exploration and aviation manufacturing. The piece was tailored for Xtep's use through a strategic research partnership with carbon fiber manufacturer Zhongfu Shenying. The GT1200 carbon plate uses ultra-fine 12K carbon fiber filaments that are lighter than a human hair but offer ten times the strength of steel at only a quarter of the weight. The innovation includes a protective gold-colored PI fiber coating designed to absorb the repetitive impact of long-distance running, thereby reducing the risk of fiber damage and enhancing the plate's long-term stability and resilience.
