The principles of tent construction were used in the crafting of the Capri Sun collection. The designer wished to employ as few parts as possible in the making of two pieces of furniture, and ones that could be structurally sound without as much of the hardware.
Steel pipe joints perfectly accommodate a set of smooth timber sticks, keeping all components tightly together. Four three-sided connectors can be found in the table and an assorted eight support the sling chair.
Both objects reference the finer material of camping shelters, with the use of hung fabric in the lounger. The rigid top surface of the table looks like cloth pulled taut from all four sides. The Capri Sun collection by Jorgen Platou Willumsen has the potential to construct additional pieces from the same selection of constituents.
