Emotion-Detecting Cameras

Researchers Introduce Emotion-Detecting Camera for Cars

Researchers at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, working alongside PSA Peugeot Citroen, bring forth an emotion-detecting automobile camera, with facial recognition that enables drivers to identify drivers and their emotions.

The emotional state of a driver can be a risk factor, and this concept helps identify any of the seven universal emotions that drivers around you may be experiencing. Using an infrared camera placed behind the steering wheel, drivers can now get a better idea of the emotional state of people sharing the road with them. These researchers, who specialize in facial detection, monitoring, and analysis, knew that there is a wide arrange of emotions among people and how they express them, so they zeroed down on two of the more predominant emotions on the road; anger and disgust. This is certain to get you out of sticky situations that you can now be better prepared for.
