An integrated project in China, ‘BUMPS in Beijing’ by SAKO Architects consists of four residential buildings and a commercial building.
BUMPS in Beijing truly has a unique design concept. Not only are the buildings designed in a way that provides optimum sunshine for each building, each building features units—sets of every two floors—that are staggered by 2 meters horizontally. This combination is repeated throughout the building in alternating black and white. Overall, the appearance of BUMPS in Beijing looks like stacked blocks with scattered pixel-like windows (which are all 1 meter square in size).
