Anheuser-Busch Brought Back Its 90s 'Bud Bowl' Ad as a Snapchat Game

'Bud Bowl' is the name of a stop-motion Super Bowl commercial that aired in 1989 to advertise Anheuser-Busch's assortment of Budweiser beers. While it was aired throughout the 90s and can be found on YouTube today, the commercial starring anthropomorphized Budweiser and Bud Light bottles playing football against one another is unfamiliar to younger generations.

However, Anheuser-Busch recently reinvented the Bud Bowl by introducing it as a game on Snapchat. True to the original Super Bowl beer ad, the bottles face off against one another, and players are challenged to pick a play that will hopefully lead them closer to scoring a touchdown.

The interactive Bud Bowl ad game appeared on Snapchat as part of the brand's takeover of the ESPN Discover portal.
