Post-Apocalyptic Cityscapes

Brin Levinson's Collection Features Animals Roaming Forgotten City

Brin Levinson's collection of breathtakingly surreal oil paintings have a post-apocalyptic theme. The collection features a world where only animals roam in an urban setting.

The artist drew on the cityscape of his hometown of Portland, Oregon for inspiration. He used familiar landmarks like old buildings, water towers and bridges. The collection features animals wondering around a forgotten and long-abandoned city. In each painting, nature seems to be reclaiming the once populated city. The animals appear to be at ease in their urban habitat and no remnants of society other than buildings appear to remain. Levinson includes animals not naturally found in the Northwestern United States like the zebra and the rhino, although the animals could have escaped from a zoo and into the city.
