Illusory Collapsed Cabinetry

The Break Sideboard Appears to Have Cracked and Caved in the Middle

There's something very stylish about faux damaged furnishings and this is exploited in the Break Sideboard. It looks as though this cupboard has caved in under its own weight and that of its contents, yet a peek inside will reveal that it is still perfectly functional.

While the top of the cabinet slopes inwards and the doors seem to slump downwards, the base of the storage unit inside is actually level. The two sets of three shelves can hold an assortment of items upright, without the apparent risk of them toppling over.

Designed by Snarkitecture, the Break Sideboard fools with its illusionary crookedness and the chic fractured effect to the inner edges of the front panels. It sinks between its silicone feet to produce a playfully deceptive optical effect that's surprisingly crisp and contemporary to look at.
