Proximity-Based Chat Apps

The 'BounceChat' App Allows Users to Message Those Nearby

'BounceChat' is a new group messaging app that made its debut today at SXSW. Most social platforms are designed so that users can post messages for their followers or the public to see. This app is the first social media platform that lets users tag the location of their post so that only those within a certain area will be able to see the message.

To use BounceChat, users simply download the app and then join public or private group chats. User can then share pictures, messages, events and other content through the platform. What makes BounceChat particularly unique is that users can tag the location of their posts, thereby limiting who will be able to see them. Users can set the proximity for their post from anywhere between 100 yards away to global visibility.

The app is ultimately designed to make it easier for people, groups and events to connect with those in a certain range.
