'Sawdust and Pigment Paintings' is a visually stunning new exhibition by self-taught Mexican artist Bosco Sadi. The artist's latest works have been created using a mixture of sawdust, color pigments, pulped wood, water and glue to create these three-dimensional, vivid paintings.
The colors explored in these paintings come alive before the viewer, from cobalt blues to fiery reds and cracked grays.
The result of this unusual approach are giant works with vivacious coloring that you just want to reach out and touch. Through this practice, the artist explores depths of field and color that you simply don't get with most modern art. Sodi says his art is influenced by the 'Art Brut' movement. His works are also equally influenced and informed by science, perhaps due to his chemical engineer father.
