The Boeing 787 Dreamliner Can Conduct Air Show-Worthy Stunts

Passengers aboard a Boeing 787 Dreamliner -- or any other commercial airliner, for that matter -- usually prefer a smooth, turbulence-free ride while travelling. But, paradoxically, the fact that the Boeing's largest aircraft can bank, dip, climb and dive like a stunt plane might inspire confidence in nervous flyers. A new video released by Boeing shows just that, with a (passenger-less) 787-9 Dreamliner slicing through the sky.

With a 197-foot wingspan, 206-foot length, 55-foot height and maximum weight of 560 tons, it's a marvel that the Boeing 787 Dreamliner can even fly, let alone do tricks.

The plane in the video conducted these daredevil feats in preparation for the Farnborough International Airshow, during which the plane will show off its abilities live and for the public. Rest assured, the public will be on the ground during these demonstrations.
