Sang Sik Hong Creates Unbelievable 3D Art

Korean artist Sang Sik Hong has handcrafted these amazing pieces out of straws. His inspiration for this collection was to portray human desires by using symbolism through the use of body parts, particularly the eyes, hands and mouth. It is hard to believe that these 3D installations are made out of just straws, considering the amount of detail put into the design.

His decision to use straws came from the need to build a contrast between power and desire. Straws are weak materials that are not high in monetary value and are easily disposable. Power is not easy to attain, but people still strive to gain it, even when in a weakened state or position.

Sang Sik Hong's unbelievable 3D art is not only visually appealing, but has a deeper relatable message as well.
