The BMW Personal Movers Help Traverse the Massive Facilities

In an effort to broaden the mobility of its factory workers, BMW is introducing its BMW personal movers concept to its manufacturing plants. These facilities often span massive spaces, and employees spend a great deal of time traversing them to get from place to place. In a survey done by BMW, the German automaker found that its employees needed a solution to better traverse the campus and this is where the BMW personal movers concept was conceived.

The fully electric movers are designed to carry a single user. This focus on a single carrying capacity allows the worker to stay more focused on their specific task. The BMW personal movers can currently travel at 25 km/h and come with built-in baskets for easily transporting items. The movers are easily charged with a power adaptor and socket. While the current plan is to utilize the BMW personal movers in BMW plants, the team behind the project has also discussed introduction of the device in large public spaces.
