Design firm Werner Sobek is responsible for this 750 square meter, contemporary block home that naturally blends into its sloped surroundings.
Located outside of the town of Yssingeaux, France, this family residence was built over a pre-existing sand pit, allowing its designers to partially embed the stacked home within the hillside. While its ground floor is partially hidden from the outside world, the top floor of the house is completely transparent and allows for natural light to flood the space. The level also provides a spectacular view of the home's surrounding countryside.
The structure of the house has been made from both reinforced steel and black concrete materials, while its interior features a number of luxurious additions including an inner courtyard, garage, reception area, swimming pool and several guest bedrooms.
