KFC China is Generating Intrigue with Pink and Black Burger Buns

Yet another marketing scheme using brightly colored food has appeared, this time introducing pink and black burger buns.

Just after Burger King Japan created its black and red 'Samurai' burgers and McDonald's Japan released the black squid ink burger, KFC China introduced pink and black chicken burgers. Thankfully, the meat is not altered in color, just the bread.

The 'Rose Cheese Roasted Chicken Burger' and 'Black Diamond Bacon Spicy Chicken Burger' were introduced to try and increase sales at the floundering Chinese KFC brand. The new products are being met with excitement as well as general confusion. While brightly colored fruits and veggies are always more nutritional, the same health benefits do not necessarily apply to artificially colored bread. Nonetheless, these pink and black burger buns are a fun twist on a classic fast food favorite.
