Snapchat Purchases Bitstrips for Personalized Comic Creations

Snapchat just dropped $100 million on Bitstrips, a company that allows people to create their own cartoon avators and comic strips to either share on social media or with a private group of friends. A fun activity that riffs off of Snapchat's face filters perfectly, it's an acquisition that makes sense.

Although used on Facebook predominantly in the past, Bitstrips has been launched in a recent Snapchat update. The update will let people send over 200 stickers to friends. Tech Crunch writes, "Snapchat smartly lets you both browse through stickers, or instantly shows you ones related to words you’ve typed in the text compose window." It'll only be a matter of time before more Bitstrips similarities are revealed.
