Instructional Birthing Videos

This App is Designed to Reduce Maternal Deaths in Ethiopia

'Safe Delivery' is a new app that provides instructional birthing videos and information about what to due if issues arise during childbirth. Ethiopia currently has the highest rate of maternal deaths in the entire world. Out of every 100,000 births, approximately 420 of them will end with the death of the child after less than six weeks.

These unfortunate statistics led the 'Maternity Foundation' to create the Safe Delivery app. The app provides instructional birthing videos and useful advice that can help assist Ethiopian mothers during childbirth. The videos are animated and straight-forward enough for people of any grade level to follow. Because the majority of Ethiopian women give birth at home, the videos are designed to help mothers and fathers make preparations for labor and care for the newborn child when it arrives.

While the videos are designed to assist Ethiopian families, the app can be used by anyone who is considering a home birth.
