Biohax Injects Tiny Functional Microchips into People's Hands

Biohax is a Swedish company that seeks to enhance human capabilities by implanting microchips that can be used to control a variety of devices, for a multitude of functions.

Founded by Jowan Osterlund, Biohax's microchips can be "programmed to speak to other networked devices," which they are able to do through Near Field Communication. These devices can range from coffee makers to doors that are locked electronically. The purpose of the microchips is to allow those implanted with them to control their devices in order to convenience their lives as much as possible. The microchips are implanted with a syringe between the thumb and index finger.

Although personal security may be a concern for those interested in implantable microchips, Biohax's products are offering a new way for consumers to stay connected in a very literal sense, which opens the door for a multitude of beneficial uses.
