Benthem Crouwel Architects Uses Fishing Nets for This Design

Benthem Crouwel Architects have completed a house in the Netherlands with a slightly different material for the exterior - fishing nets. Most people would go for a simple wood finish, but the team wanted to do something different with this design.

"The tonal patterning on the exterior takes its arrangement directly from the internal spatial organization, when viewed in vertical cross section," states DesignBoom. Various colors were used for the net sections, which adds a certain sense of vibrancy to the house. The abode is actually located on Texel Island in the Netherlands, which is known for its fishing atmosphere and lifestyle. As such the nets are quite fitting considering this atmosphere surrounding the abode. Photo Credits: designboom, benthemcrouwel
