Benromach Adds New Cara Gold Whiskey to Its Contrasts Range

Speyside-based distillery Benromach has announced the launch of a limited-edition single malt called 'Benromach Cara Gold.' The new expression arrives as part of the brand's Contrasts range and will be limited to a total of just 6,000 bottles globally -- 1,500 will be sold in the UK.

As the name suggests, the new whiskey is crafted using Gold malted barley, an ingredient that is more commonly used in beer breweries thanks to its unique fruity and caramel notes. In addition, the malted barley is then combined with Benorchmach's signature peated malt before being aged in first-fill Bourbon barrels. As a result, this bright-gold spirit conjures flavors of apricot, pineapple, and pepper, while delivering a sweet and smoky finish.
