Benoit Paille Captures Looks of Longing and Sadness Through Children's Eyes

Photographer Benoit Paille looks deeply into the eyes of children with his newest art installation for the Towada Art Center in Aomori, Japan. Asked to make art about school bullying for the center, Paille took an introspective angle that targets the source of all raw emotion: the eyes.

The installation is spread on a large wall-sized canvas with the eyes staring at another wall covered in drawings made by each of his subjects about bullying. The truly moving installation is one that inspires thought and reflection on the increasingly relevant issue, as schoolyard bullying is no longer restricted to the playground, but stretches into the vast world of cyberspace.

Implications - Childhood bullying is the inspiration behind much art and photography, as the ongoing issue is growing in seriousness and new forums for bullying are emerging every day.
