Art-Inspired Sculptural Seats

Designer Benjamin Nordsmark Creates Dramatic Chair Designs

Benjamin Nordsmark's designs can be considered more works of art than pieces of furniture for one reason only (although there are many more): The creations are inspired by art. For instance, Benjamin Nordsmark's Gaudi chair takes its form from the columns in the La Sagrada Familia while the asymmetrical Picasso chair is inspired by the Cubist movement spearheaded by the famous Spanish artist.

Each of Benjamin Nordsmark's furniture designs are as different from each other as snowflakes are. The only cohesion in his portfolio is the constant influence of the art world. He writes, "The visual appearence of the items are always my first priority and therefore I use inspiration espicially from art and experimenting with materials that are rare in furnitures."
