The Battery SeaGlass is a fun revamp of the classic carousel. In place of the traditional ponies and unicorns, this merry-go-round offers 30 underwater-themed seats. From dolphins and turtles to clownfish and other marine life, children and adults alike can imagine that they are mermaids on an exciting adventure.
Located in one of New York's oldest public parks, the Battery SeaGlass was designed by WXY Architecture. Inspired by the original New York Aquarium, the Battery SeaGlass takes on a spiralling nautilus shape. It comes complete with fiber optic and LED lights, accompanied by an oceanic soundtrack, to create a dreamy glow as if people really were underwater.
The Battery SeaGlass carousel provides a new experience for visitors. It is set to open this upcoming fall in Manhattan.
