The Brooklyn-based sculptor Lars Fisk will have his installation of ball sculptures featured at the Marlborough Chelsea gallery in New York this month.
The sculptures are all spherical in their shape and vary immensely in size and design. Each of the balls are named after the same material they were designed with, with examples such as mosaic tiles making up the 'Stop Balls' trio, bark making up the 'Tree Ball,' cobblestone making up the 'Street Ball,' and a parking lot design on the 'Lot Ball.' Each of the ball sculptures are different sizes, ranging from tiny shaved pencil balls to ones that are over 15 feet tall.
This series of ball sculptures finds a creative way to use a diverse range of materials to create reinterpreted forms of the objects they were inspired by.
