Electric vehicular technologies have slowly but surely been making their way into the world of professional automotive racing at all levels right from Formula One down to go-kart racing, but the upcoming Electric Production Car Series is set to take things to the next level by requiring all drivers to operate a specially tweaked Tesla Model S P100D.
The series will comprise a round of heats followed by a 60-kilometer daytime race and a 60-kilometer evening competition, with all rounds of races set to be held in Spain.
In addition to serving up a car-racing spectacle of the highest order, the Electric Production Car Series will also serve as a wonderful marketing opportunity for Tesla, as it looks to continue to sell its top-of-the-line electric cars to prospective buyers.
