The 'GlassUp' augmented reality glasses are designed to rival the Google Glass. Two years ago, GlassUp CEO Francesco Giartosio found himself inundated with emails, texts and Facebook status updates and set out to design a way to seamlessly receive these messages instantly with more convenience.
GlassUp resembles a normal pair of glasses, but they are packed with capabilities like being able to provide motorists with directions, add subtitles to foreign films viewed in theatres and provide detailed cooking instructions in the kitchen.
Unlike Google Glass, this pair of augmented reality glasses is "receive only," purely text-based and does not include any videos or pictures. To reduce strain, the information is provided much closer to the wearer's centre of vision. This pair of augmented reality glasses is set to rival Google Glass at half the price.
