Geometric White Forest Homes

Atelier Pierre Thibault Built a Home in a Rural Quebec Forest

Atelier Pierre Thibault's design for this home in rural Quebec changes its relation to the surrounding environment depending on the time of year. The geometric residence is completely whitewashed, so during the summer it stands in stark contrast to the verdant colors of the forest in which it sits, while in the winter it's nearly invisible amid the white snow and leafless trees.

The home, which is called 'Le Lupin', is a vacation spot for a young family. It overlooks a relatively quiet section of the St. Lawrence River, making it a great spot for swimming while its warm and skating and snowmobiling when its cold.

Le Lupin's white aesthetic is apparent on the interior as well, with primarily white walls that unify the home.
