This Artist Drew Buildings in the Positions of the Kama Sutra

The 'Archisutra' by Federico Babina is a series of architectural illustrations that imagines buildings bent into the positions of the Kama Sutra.

Equal parts funny and imaginative, the 'Archisutra' sees anthropomorphic buildings copulating in creative positions. Babina draws inspiration both from the ancient Hindu text and the reality of architecture. There is certainly a lighthearted, irreverent quality to his work -- Babina says that he enjoyed depicting "a sculptural body shaking in a voluptuous architectural embrace." However, he also points to the inherent eroticism of architecture and its reliance on the shapes of sexual patterns and anatomy, as well as revered architects that have professed to be inspired by sexuality in their work.

Babina has created other series of whimsical architectural illustrations, including a building alphabet, but this is his most risque collection to date.
