Eye-Captivating Arched Shelters

Unparelld'arquitectes' Emergency Scenery Catalyzes Activity

Oslo-based architectural studio Unparelld'arquitectes has completed a striking arched shelter in Olot, Spain. The piece sits across the Baroque church of Our Lady of the Tura. The silhouette of the structure is magnanimous and striking. Dubbed 'Emergency Scenery,' the structure boasts three arches. Unparelld'arquitectes used the remnants of a demolished house to accent its stylish arched shelter.

Eduard Callís, co-founder of Unparelld'arquitectes, shared that the structure is intended to emphasize the character of the street and create "a more comfortable atmosphere in the street, and catalyze activity."

The elegant arched shelter also protects the party wall of the demolished building and makes for the perfect backdrop for live events. Its aesthetic is informed by Sadurni Brunet's work who "was a decorator, working in the neighborhood, and specialized in designing sceneries, shops, and mangers."
