AR News Apps

The Quartz App Enriches News Stories with Relevant Augmented Reality Models

Online media company Quartz recently updated its mobile app with an AR news feature to add a new dimension to its reporting.

With Quartz, users are able to receive short summaries of news articles, some of which are now enhanced with relevant augmented reality models that take advantage of Apple's new iOS 11 update. The first story from Quartz to integrate this feature was one on the Cassini probe developed by NASA, the European Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency. Rather than just providing a picture or video, as many publications do, Quartz gives readers the chance to understand detail in greater depth.

Through the Quartz app, users are also able to receive everything from messages and links to animated GIFs.
