MoMu's New Exhibit Fill the Streets of Antwerp with Excitement

To celebrate the reopening of the Antwerp Fashion Museum (MoMu), students of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts have conceived a public art installation located throughout the city.

This project accompanies the reopening of MoMu's Fashion 2.021 Antwerp - Fashion/Conscious campaign. The installation is an interactive experience where visitors and pedestrians are invited to sit inside large-scaled spheres, which creates the illusion of being dressed in a giant gown.

The sculptures are known as 'fashion balls.' Each fashion ball emulates an original garment worn by a famous icon. When visitors approach the ball, they can scan a QR code and see the original garment worn by a fashion film star. The artists hope visitors and pedestrians interact with the fashion balls in whatever capacity they desire.
