Stalagmite-Like Wooden Sculptures

Artist Anthony Peer Carved a Cluster of Geometric Shapes

Anthony Peer, an industrial design student based in Hamilton, New Jersey, has created a visually striking sculpture that brings to mind stalagmite formations found in dark caverns and caves. But instead of being made out of rock and precious gems, Anthony Peer's sculpture has been carved out of wood. Full of high peaks, flat planes and a cluster of geometric forms, it is a stunning abstract work of art that would complement many domestic and public spaces.

Finished with four metal legs, Anthony Peer's sculpture is at once warm and ominous. In a way, it could be likened to some sort of miniature fortress, yet the material softens its imposing appearance. Although no one would ever want to compromise its stature, the sculpture could easily double as a practical coat rack.
