The Vibrant Andean Collection Supports Artisans in Ecuador

The Andean Collection is a certified Fair Trade line of bohemian jewelry based in Brooklyn, New York that was launched with the intention of supporting artisans facing poverty in South America.

"Andean Collection takes cues from our diverse world," the website explains. "We use both bright colors and soft hues, and combine natural materials with rustic metals."

Both the Andean Collection and Andean Project (their non-profit arm) were founded by Amanda Judge who left the corporate world to pursue social entrepreneurship after travels to Latin American brought her face to face with social issues like poverty and HIV.

The social enterprise is run by six women (including Amanda) who use a portion of the profits from the vibrant accessories to support the Andean Project, which helps those facing poverty in Ecuador.

The Andean Collection website includes an online store as well as a section that introduces the artisans and shares a bit about them, including how they become involved in the project and their aspirations.
