Ana Mitrano Uses Recycled Cardboard to Construct Eco-Friendly Furniture

The architect Ana Mitrano recently created a collection of furniture complete with uniquely shaped pieces using recycled cardboard. The Argentina-based designer created a variety of pieces to furnish an entire space including a rocking chair, a series of low-rise seats, coffee tables, footrests and even some decorative pieces such as a tall tree.

Using pressed, recycled cardboard plaques, Ana Mitrano created a collection of furniture that boasts sleek, curvy designs and sustainable, eco-friendly properties. In addition to the funky designs, the recycled cardboard pieces can also carry significant amounts of weight -- up to 220 pounds. Another functional feature of the collection is the smaller pieces that can be easily slid underneath larger, identical-shaped pieces.
