This American Apparel Packaging Uses Eco-Friendly Materials

This example of American Apparel packaging is an innovative sustainable concept created by San Francisco-based graphic design student Roger Wang. The unique concept uses a cardboard tube as a vessel for the kicks, which Wang envisioned as a pair of nude ballet flats.

Tasked with creating an eco-friendly footwear packaging concept for a popular fashion brand of their choice, Wang chose to create a sustainable that also served as a bag. Both the inner and outer cardboard pieces are made from recycled materials, with the inner tray sliding out of the tube to reveal the flats and the accompanying items, which included a gift card and a DVD. Images of women doing ballet exercises and the product information is contained on the side of the tube.
