Ski Slopes Come to Copenhagen on the Amagerforbraending by BIG

"Oooh" is all I can say when I look at the plans for Amagerforbraending by BIG -- and its smoke stack will agree with me. The industrial structure will house a waste-to-energy plant, incorporating an incredible downhill skiing park around the outside.

Man Made Land and Topotek 1 are collaborating to design a range of ski and snowboarding slopes that vary in difficulty and will be covered by a recycled synthetic granular instead of snow. Alternative to a chairlift, Amagerforbraending by BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) will be equipped with an elevator, set to scale the smoke stack. Providing Copenhagen community members with the chance to peer into the plant in action, the enormous chimney will blow one smoke ring for every tonne of carbon dioxide and water vapor produced.Photo Credits: designboom, big.dk
