Zero-Alcohol Gin Alternatives

'Surendran & Bownes Edition Zero: Labdanum' is a Gin Alternative

For Borough Wines & Beers, distiller Surendran & Bownes created 'Surendran & Bownes Edition Zero: Labdanum,' an alternative to gin at 0% ABV. The organic and vegan-friendly spirit alternative boasts the same flavors of gin, but without the alcoholic content. The London Dry-style gin alternative boasts notes of juniper, tonka beans, gentian and wormwood lend the non-alcoholic spirit a herbaceous flavor. To balance out some of the deeper, woodsy scents of spices like coriander seed, cinnamon, cardamom and clove, Edition Zero: Labdanum also features rose water, cranberry and orris root.

To serve, it is recommended for three parts of a tonic to be mixed with one part of Edition Zero: Labdanum and garnished with star anise, or substituted in other tonic-style drinks.

The exclusive spirit will only be available through Borough Wines & Beers in the new year, as part of the Distillers Development Programme, which supports the growth of small spirits businesses.
