The Alipay+ smart glasses payment solution has been announced by the brand as a product for global eWallets that's focused on supporting intuitive payments. The announcement includes a collaboration with Meizu, which saw the Meizu StarV Snap smart glasses used for payment in Hong Kong to demonstrate the capabilities of the technology. The technology would allow users to scan QR codes with the smart glasses or utilize voice commands to quickly make payments without having to use their smartphone or a smartwatch.
Chief Innovation Officer of Ant International Jiangming Yang spoke on Alipay+ saying, "We are grateful to work with industry leaders like Meizu to pioneer smart glasses-embedded payment solutions. By unlocking payment capabilities, smart glasses will rapidly transform into the next-gen personal device like the mobile phone."
