These Alcoholic Grapes are Reportedly the World's First

These alcoholic grapes have been developed by a team of scientists at the Slosh Education Institute as a new variety that would provide consumers with a way to combine a serving of fruit with an alcoholic refreshment. The grapes were created using genetic modification technology that would offer between a 7% and 10% ABV when at their peak ripeness. The grapes are reported by project lead Antonio Inebriado as being well-suited for use in smoothies, savory dishes or even as a snack.

The alcoholic grapes offer consumers an alternative to a glass of wine and could offer additional benefits when enjoyed responsibly. The grapes are expected to be commercially rolled out starting in 2023 and are recommended to be enjoyed as an accompaniment to bread or pasta.
