These alcohol monitoring ice-cubes could banish fears of embarrassing yourself on a night once and for all. MIT media lab researcher Dhairya Dand was moved to create these ingenious ice-cubes after an alcohol-induced blackout experience following an MIT party.
The ice-cubes change color depending on how many drinks you’ve had and if you get to the point of no return, the ice-cubes will even text a buddy to come save you from yourself/call you a cab. The cubes contain a circuit that tracks time and notes the number of sips taken; the circuit is then set inside edible jelly. The intelligent cubes also react to ambient sounds.
