Future Delivers a Limited Series of Akari Lantern and Prints

Artist Futura recently unveiled that he is adding his signature expertise to a limited series at the Noguchi Museum, presenting a series of Akari lanterns and prints. The two worked together back in 2020 on an exhibition that is now used as the base of this current launch.

The details include a lightly and carefully sponged application that also has sprays and drawings on top of the washi prints. These highlight a sun and bow tie emblem as the Akari 1S designs were originally made by Noguchi back in 1954 in a range of colorways -- it included shades of yellow, orange, green, grey, and red. The Akari lanterns have a soft touch of paint by Futura that captures his free-form approach.
