Outdoor-Integrated Architecture

The Paso Robles Residence was Completed by Aidlin Darling Design

Aidlin Darling Design is the architecture firm behind this house constructed in California, right in the heart of wine country.

Because the house is set in a rural part of the country, the firm really wanted to bring out the relationship of the structure with the surrounding land. Instead of cutting off the outside space from the inside, Aidlin Darling Design integrated the two seamlessly. The living room and dining room are set under a roof with open areas on either side, allowing people to take in the scenery without even gazing through a glass window. While this would not work in colder climates, it's not a problem in California due to the steady heat for most of the year.
