Aeolian Light is a 10-meter-square light installation by Squidsoup that invites viewers to become an active participant in the art.
The installation, which was created exclusively for Quays Culture and The University of Salford, features thousands of floating lights which change color in response to movement, either from the wind or human intervention. The windy disposition of Manchester, England, ensures that the lights are constantly moving, and therefore, changing colors, treating the city's residents to a colorful fantasy world.
Depending on the weather, walking through the exhibit can either be a turbulent experience, characterized by frenzied movement and rapid color fluctuation, or a very calm experience; a gradually changing luminescence that can be tinkered with as a human participant.
