Aaskash Nihalani "Skewers" People Together with Illusionary Tape

Street artist Aaskash Nihalani, who is known for his geometrically composed artworks, is back with another series of works, which feature couples "skewed" together.

Using neon tape he photographs pairs of people side by side in straight-standing stances who are connected with the tape. He then uses Photoshop to turn the tape into optical illusions. The illusions make the pairs look linked; the tape, which is now elongated neon blocks, look as if they are going right through each person's torso.

The images are part of a series called 'Landline.' Nihalani selectively takes the photos for the series in front of New York City buildings that feature graffiti and brightly colored paint to "highlight the unexpected contour and elegant geometry of the city itself."
