A 59-foot-tall Gundam is Seen in Tokyo Bay's Yokohama Gundam Base

Anime fans were captivated by a real-scale replica of the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam character big farewell and to honor the character was a 59-foot-tall Gundam structure. This was seen at the Yokohama Gundam Base located in Tokyo Bay to give the robot a proper send-off.

The replica is more than a large towered structure as it also features 36 functional joints that allow for movement. This also simultaneously celebrates the 406h-anniversary of the Gundam franchise back in December 2020. This past Sunday, the Yokohama Gundam Base and Gundam Factory hosted a large farewell event to honor the character. There was a bright light show in the night sky with Yoshiyuki Tomino, creator of Gundam sharing a few words.
